Save time, money and inconvenience
‘No-dig’ visual internal inspection of live gas pipelines
SynthoCam™ CCTV is a safe, quick and economical method of inspecting live gas pipelines. The system was specifically developed by Synthotech for the gas industry and is approved to UK gas industry requirements. SynthoCam™ is also used by all major UK network owners, utility infrastructure companies and their representatives. The system is backed by comprehensive technical, maintenance and training support.
SynthoCam™ CCTV inspection system for live gas pipelines
The SynthoCam™ CCTV system is available in modular components for a range of applications. Entry and exit from the main is achieved using under pressure equipment that enables the camera to be launched and retrieved under controlled 'live' gas conditions, without the need to isolate or interrupt the gas supply.
Mains repair and replacement applications
- Finding leaks and connections
- Investigating obstructions and pressure problems, such as water ingress
- Locating joints, defects and interference
- Surveying pipeline routes
- PE line tracing whilst surveying
Benefits
- Substantial operational cost savings
- Minimal excavation and reduced reinstatement
- Faster project progress/completion
- No interruption to consumer supplies
- Less environmental impact
- Approved by UK gas distribution networks
“Camera surveys are routinely carried out for planning mains and service replacement projects, as well as problem solving and repairs. The result is vast savings in reinstatement expense, reduced need for road closures and less disruption to customers and the general public.”
Will Farragher, Construction Engineer,
West Gas Coalition, National Grid Gas
"Our managers say SynthoCam is compatible with their drilling sets. The savings of time, money and reinstatement are quite considerable.
We now have a camera system in every depot.
This means less time spent transporting cameras
across the region."
Allan Davies, Network Performance Manager, Wales and West Utilities

NEW Pan & Tilt Camera System
See inside larger gas mains
Even bigger savings on excavation, reinstatement and disruption
The SynthoCam™ ‘Pan and Tilt’ CCTV camera system provides increased circumferential vision in larger diameter mains.
Remote Control Camera
